Today, I’ve got something new for you, something really different! Today, I’m gonna introduce you to my friend Ewout. He’s 13 years old and he’s passionate about animated and animating movies. It all started with playing with Lego. He created his own stories with it. Slowly he started watching stopmotion films, specifically brickfilms. For those not knowing what ‘brickfilms’ are. Brickfilms are stopmotion films made of Lego, by taking a picture of every movement that the object makes. Then, by placing all the pictures after each other, the motion is created. This is what we call stopmotion animation. Soooo back to Ewout, by exploring the art of stopmotion and brickfilms, he found his own creative way in how to make playing with Lego an art. Now 4 years later he has his own animation studio, MOTUS, this is Latin for moving, motivation. At the end of 2016 he participated in a film contest, and guess what … he won the price for best animation with his animation called ‘S_P_A_C_E’. The first thing you think off if you hear ‘space’, is probably the atmosphere. But he made a pun of it, because ‘space’

doesn’t only mean ‘atmosphere’. It also means ‘the space between words’ that’s why he put a low stripe between every letter of ‘space’. At this moment he’s working on ‘H_A_C_K_E_D’. This film is about an egoïstic hacker who takes down all the internet connection, except his own. And guess what, I’ve done a voice over for this animation! By winning the price at the contest he had an artical in the newspaper ‘HLN’. At the moment he is also sponsored by Canon! So guys as you can hear, do what you love and love what you do!
